David Ragan, driver of the No. 34 The Pete Store Ford, comments on racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:
“Homestead-Miami Speedway has really turned into one of the best tracks on the circuit. It’s aged well, and the different levels of banking just give you a lot of options. You can run right up by the wall, but on restarts you can really make up some ground on the bottom.
“In the last race of the year, you want to run as well as you can and put an exclamation point on the season. We’ll have The Pete Store on our No. 34 for this race and we want to have a good run for them, too. It’s a terrible feeling leaving Homestead with an engine issue or a DNF. So, everybody puts a lot of effort into Homestead. It’s a fun racetrack, but it’s going to be a tough 400 miles. I’m going to enjoy racing hard, but I also want to keep my eye on the four guys racing for the championship. That will be fun to watch as well.
“Miami is a great place to finish the year. The weather’s great, we get to enjoy some good seafood and good entertainment. And the plane ride home from Homestead is the best plane ride of the year. You know you’re going home and you’ve got a couple of weeks off.”
JUST THE FACTS:
Ragan has seven Sprint Cup career starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway … He has one top-10 and two top-20 finishes at the 1.5-mile track … His best finish at Homestead is 10th (2007) … The Pete Store, the largest privately owned Peterbilt dealer by sales in the country, returns to Front Row Motorsports as primary sponsor of the No. 34 Ford.
