Overview
Overview
This new 2027 Peterbilt 567 conventional day cab is configured as a quad-axle construction dump truck for on/off-highway construction materials hauling. It pairs a tandem drive with dual self-steering pusher axles and carries an 18' Heritage Steel Smooth Side end dump body with an air-operated hi-lift tailgate. GVWR is 85,000 lbs and GCW is 98,000 lbs.
Engine & Drivetrain
The truck is powered by a Cummins X15 Production Series engine rated at 525 HP at 1,900 RPM, governed at 2,000 RPM, with 1,850 lb-ft of torque at 1,000 RPM. The engine is 2024-emissions compliant and EPA idling compliant. It includes a Jacobs compression brake with controls on the right-hand column, engine protection shutdown, a high-efficiency cooling system, and a 2-speed fan clutch for frequent start/stop work. Filtration comes from dual self-cleaning under-hood pre-cleaners, a firewall-mounted air cleaner, and a Davco 382 fuel/water separator with 12V fuel filter heat, along with a fuel cooler.
Electrical equipment includes a PACCAR 160-amp alternator, a PACCAR premium starter, three PACCAR AGM 12V batteries rated at 2,775 CCA, and a battery jumper terminal under the hood. A Kissling 300A power disconnect switch, a low voltage disconnect system, and a 110-120V immersion block heater round out the package. The air compressor is rated at 37.4 CFM.
The engine is paired with an Allison 4500 RDS-P Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series automatic transmission in a 6-speed configuration. It has a TC-561 torque converter, neutral at stop, and a dash-mounted push-button shifter. Rear axle ratio is 4.10, set up for a typical operating speed of 65 MPH, and the powertrain is optimized for balance in service with frequent start and stop cycles. The driveline is a Spicer SPL250 Lite with two midship bearings and an SPL170 XL interaxle. PTO provisions include a 12-pin remote PTO/throttle connection in the engine bay and a dash-mounted electric-over-hydraulic PTO control.
Exhaust runs dual SOC with a left-hand stack and a single right-hand under-cab DPF/SCR module. The stack is a 36" chrome standpipe with clear coat and a 45-degree cut curved tip.
Chassis & Axles
The frame uses 10-3/4" steel rails at 3/8" thickness with a full steel inner liner. The rails are zinc-coated and anti-corrosion treated, with aluminum crossmembers and heavy-duty iron front spring brackets. The end of frame is square, without a crossmember, so the body builder can install one. Wheelbase is 289", bumper-to-front-axle is 90.1", cab-to-axle is 198.9", and cab-to-end-of-frame is 252.9". Maximum grade rating is 6%.
Up front, a PACCAR FX-20 wide-track steer axle rated at 20,000 lbs with a 4" drop is paired with Sheppard HD94 dual-gear power steering, a frame-mounted reservoir with cooler, and greasable spring pins. The rear axle is a heavy-wall Dana Spicer D46-172 tandem rated at 46,000 lbs, with a driver-controlled differential lock (speed interlock) and synthetic lubricant in all axles.
Two Watson-Chalin SL13 self-steering pusher axles rated at 13,500 lbs each are spaced 49" and 98" from the forward drive axle centerline. They come with frame-mounted lift axle regulators, dash switches and gauges, and a raised stowed position for added ground clearance. Engineering-assigned ratings are GAWR front 18,740 lbs, first pusher 11,020 lbs, second pusher 23,000 lbs, rear 23,000 lbs, and GVWR 85,000 lbs.
Braking is handled by Bendix ADB22X air disc brakes on the steer and tandem drive axles. The system includes Bendix ESP electronic stability with ATC, 6S6M ABS, tire pressure monitoring, an SBM valve, and a pneumatic park brake. Air equipment includes two Bendix AD-IS air dryers with an EverFlow switching module and coalescing filters, polished aluminum air tanks mounted outside the frame rails with pull cords, a hand valve plumbed to all service brakes, 5' body connections, and a 7-way socket at the end of frame. Fuel is carried in a single polished 26" aluminum 110-gallon tank under the left side of the cab with a polished non-slip step and straps. The DEF tank is mounted left back-of-cab with a polished stainless cover. The truck also has a polished aluminum space-saver battery box with side access, a polished deep tapered aluminum bumper set forward, and a heavy-duty external tow eye.
Suspension
The rear suspension is a Hendrickson HMX EX 460 HaulMaax rated at 46,000 lbs with a 54" axle spread, a 70K creep rating, and dedicated shock absorbers. The front uses 20,000 lb taper leaf springs with Tenneco shocks. Cab air suspension is also included.
Cab & Interior
The vocational 121" BBC aluminum day cab has a Metton hood and a stainless steel crown and grille with tilt assist, plus a bright-finish side-of-hood air intake bezel, 4.5" rubber fender lips, and a thermal insulation package. Inside is the Prestige interior in Sterling Gray. The driver gets a Peterbilt LX premium high-back air ride seat in black Mordura with left and right armrests. The passenger seat is a Peterbilt ST high-back in black Mordura with a left armrest and a toolbox underneath.
The steering column tilts and telescopes and carries a multi-function wheel with audio and cruise controls. Other features include a combination fresh air heater and air conditioner, power windows and door locks, a one-piece curved windshield, a fixed one-piece rear window, dark window tint, vanity mirrors on the sunvisors, a rear wall map pocket, and intermittent wipers. Audio includes a ConcertClass AM/FM/WB radio with 3.5mm aux input, Bluetooth phone and audio, a USB port, and four speakers. A Uniden Bearcat 880 CB radio with weatherband is header-mounted, with a left-cowl antenna. Global telematics hardware is installed with a 5-year SmartLinq RD subscription.
The main instrument panel is a 15" digital cluster. It displays engine and transmission oil temperature, air filter restriction, brake application pressure, engine and PTO hours, and engine percent torque. Separate backlit gauges cover front and rear drive axle oil temperature, fuel filter restriction, manifold pressure, and both pusher axle pressures. Three additional dash switches are pre-wired.
The exterior has a stainless steel outside sunvisor, motorized and heated Peterbilt aero mirrors with integrated convex lenses in bright housings, a look-down mirror over the passenger door, and dual 23" roof-mounted air horns. Lighting includes projector headlights with fender-mounted turn signals, five LED bullet marker lights, self-canceling turn signals, two LED load lights behind the cab, and pre-wiring for a beacon or strobe. The 60" tailgate is 3/16" AR-450, built as two panels with horizontal bracing. It is an overslung, air-operated hi-lift design with cylinders housed in the rear posts behind access panels, plus tailgate chains, air tailgate controls, and salt locks on each side.
Hydraulics include a pin-to-pin mounted telescopic hoist, a Hotshift PTO for the Allison automatic, and a direct-mount pump with shifter valve. A feathering-valve air control between the seats operates the body, strobes, and tarp. The 3-line system has shutoff valves, a pump kickout switch at the rear, an aluminum 35-gallon upright hydraulic tank behind the cab, and dash indicator lights for PTO engaged and body up.
The body comes with an LED light package, rear combo lights in the posts, front marker lights in the front posts, two strobes atop the front posts, and one strobe in each rear post.
