Overview
Overview
This 2026 Peterbilt 567 conventional day cab is built as a quad-axle construction dump truck, configured for construction material hauling with an intended service classification of construction dump — on/off-highway. It's equipped with a 19' Heritage Steel Smooth Side end-dump body.
Engine & Drivetrain
Power comes from a Cummins X15 rated 450 HP, governed at 2,000 RPM with 1,650 lb-ft of torque at 950 RPM, built to 2024 emissions standards. The engine runs EMUX electronics architecture and is set for a typical operating speed of 62 MPH, with cruise control and accelerator speed limited to 68 MPH. It's backed by a Jacobs engine compression brake with controls on the RH steering column, a remote PTO/throttle provision (12-pin, engine bay), and a PTO maximum engine speed of 1,400 RPM. Idle management includes CARB and EPA idling compliance, an idle shutdown timer (5 minutes, activated with the parking brake, 60-second warning period), and engine protection shutdown with warning label. Cooling and induction consist of a high-efficiency cooling system, 2-speed fan clutch for frequent starts/stops, dual self-cleaning under-hood pre-cleaners, and a firewall-mounted air cleaner. A 37.4 CFM air compressor, PACCAR fuel/water separator with extended service interval, and heated fuel filter round out the engine support systems. Exhaust routes through a single RH side-of-cab DPF/SCR module with a curved-tip, 24" chrome standpipe.
Transmission is an Allison 4500 RDS-P Rugged Duty Series automatic, Gen 6, in a 6-speed configuration with a dash-mounted push-button shifter, Allison Neutral at Stop, and auto-neutral activation with the parking brake. Driveline is an RPL25 SD with 2 midship bearings, with a park brake interlock for the transmission-mounted PTO and a dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-hydraulic PTO control.
Electrical systems include a PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, PACCAR premium starter, three PACCAR premium 12V dual-purpose batteries (2,190 CCA), a cab/sleeper power disconnect switch, and a low-voltage disconnect system.
Chassis & Axles
The chassis rides on a 276" wheelbase with 10-3/4" steel rails (3/8" thickness) and a full steel inner liner, reinforced with HD iron front spring brackets and aluminum frame rail crossmembers. GVWR is rated at 85,000 lbs (GAWR: 20,000 lbs front / 23,000 lbs rear), with a maximum grade rating of 6%.
Steer axle is a PACCAR FX-20 rated 20,000 lbs with a 4" drop, taper leaf springs, and Sheppard HD94 dual-gear power steering with a frame-mounted, cooled reservoir. Front brakes are Bendix air disc ADB22X units on PHP10 iron preset-plus hubs.
Rear axle is a Meritor RT46-164E tandem rated 46,000 lbs (5/8" wall), running a 4.10 ratio with a differential lock and speed interlock, Bendix air disc ADB22X rear brakes, and PHP10 aluminum preset-plus hubs. The tandem is supplemented by two Watson-Chalin SL13 self-steering pusher axles rated 13,500 lbs each (48" and 92" spacing from the forward drive axle centerline), with their own air tanks, aluminum preset-plus hubs, and an SBM valve. A lift axle regulator, switch, and gauge are mounted at the driver's seat and dash. The chassis includes ABS (6S6M), tire pressure monitoring, synthetic axle lubricant, and an ABS off-road switch.
Suspension
Rear suspension is a Hendrickson HMX EX 460 rated 46,000 lbs on a 54" spread (HAULMAAX, 70K creep rating) with matching shock absorbers. Front suspension uses taper leaf springs and Tenneco shocks on the steer axle. Cab air suspension is also equipped.
Cab & Interior
The cab is a VOC 121 BBC aluminum day cab with a Metton hood, stainless steel crown and grille, and tilt assist — no sleeper. Interior is finished in Prestige Sterling Gray with a Peterbilt LX premium driver seat (air ride, high back, Mordura, with armrests) and a Peterbilt ST passenger seat, plus a toolbox mounted under the passenger seat. The cab includes a multi-function steering wheel with PB logo, audio, and cruise controls; a tilt/telescoping column; power door locks and windows; a combo fresh-air heater/AC with an additional fine-particulate HVAC filter; and thermal insulation.
Standard glass includes a one-piece curved windshield, a fixed one-piece rear cab window, and dark window tint. Mirrors are motorized, heated Peterbilt Aero units with integrated convex lenses in body-color housings, plus a black-housed look-down mirror over the passenger door. An outside stainless-steel sunvisor and a textured, NFPA-compliant exterior cab entry grabhandle are also fitted.
Instrumentation is presented on a 15" digital cluster display, showing engine oil and transmission oil temperature, air filter restriction pressure, brake application air pressure, engine and PTO hourmeters, turbo boost, engine percent torque, and pusher axle pressures (1 and 2). Additional cab features include a fire extinguisher, triangle reflector kit, backup alarm (107 dB), self-canceling turn signals, daytime running lights, and auto-reset circuit protection.
Audio/communications include a ConcertClass AM/FM radio with Bluetooth phone/audio, USB port, and a 2-speaker package, along with a Uniden PC78LTX CB radio and cowl-mounted antenna. The truck also carries global telematics hardware, ELD/J1939 wiring provisions, and a 5-year SmartLinq Remote Diagnostics subscription.
Body & Equipment
The unit is fitted with a 19' Heritage Steel Smooth Side end-dump body (sloped front, measured at top of body), 99" wide, with 54" sides flush with the tailgate. Sides and floor are 1/4" AR-450 plate (sides include a 1/2" ID threaded pipe probe hole on each side), with a formed 1/4" AR-450 top rail and built-in inverted angle in place of sideboards. The floor rides on 3/16" formed longsills with a formed bottom rail and no crossmembers. The bulkhead is 1/4" AR-450, sloped to match the front body profile, with no cab shield.
The tailgate is a single-panel, 54" unit (flush with the sides, 6" slope) with horizontal bracing, an overslung top hinge, air-operated hi-lift with heavy-duty cylinders mounted in the rear post with access panels, installed tailgate chains, and air tailgate controls.
Hydraulics consist of a pin-to-pin mounted telescopic front hoist, a Hotshift PTO for the Allison automatic transmission, a direct-mount pump with shifter valve and feathering-valve air control, and a between-seats tower controlling the body, strobes, vibrator, and tarp. An aluminum 35-gallon upright hydraulic tank sits behind the cab, with a rear-mounted pump kickout switch and a 3-line system with shutoff valves; PTO-engaged and body-up indicator lights are in the dash.
Additional body equipment includes a driver's-side front-panel ladder with pull-out step below the bottom rail, a front inside step, Heritage 30" mud flaps with anti-sail brackets up front and hook/chain-mounted flaps at the rear, a driver's-side shovel holder, an 8" bolt-on rear apron, aluminum diamondplate bottom rail covers, and an electric vibrator with tower-mounted controls. An 18" x 18" x 24" aluminum toolbox is mounted on the passenger's side of the deck, alongside aluminum diamondplate deckplate/platform on both sides of the hoist mount for man-door access, toolbox, and splash guard placement. A body prop and back-up alarm are installed, with round combo rear chassis lights mounted in a plate with the ID cluster on the hinge, and no changes to the exhaust stack or ICC bumper.
Tarp is an Aero electric arm flip system (asphalt-rated material) with an installed wind deflector mounted flush with the front of the body, configured without expandable sides or a rear flap.
Body lighting is an LED package with combo rear stop/turn/tail lights in the rear posts, three front marker lights in the bottom rail, and two strobes mounted in front of the tarp windscreen plus one in each rear post.
Frame is painted black, and the dump body is sandblasted, primed, and painted black, over a white two-stage Axalta finish on the cab, hood, fenders, and roof.
