Engine & Drivetrain

EMUX electronics architecture, typical operating speed set at 62 MPH, and powertrain calibrated for frequent-start/stop duty cycles. Cruise control is limited to 68 MPH, accelerator-limited road speed is 68 MPH, and PTO engine speed is capped at 1,400 RPM. Paired with an Allison 4500 RDS-P Rugged Duty Series automatic transmission (Gen 6, 6-speed configuration) with a dash-mounted push-button shifter, TC-531 torque converter, Allison World Trans primary shift schedule 2, neutral-at-stop, and rolling-direction-change shift inhibit. Peterbilt LX premium driver seat — air-ride, high-back, Mordura trim — paired with a Peterbilt ST non-adjustable, high-back passenger seat with Mordura trim and a static riser; driver and passenger armrests included. Multi-function steering wheel with PB logo, integrated audio and cruise controls, and a tilt/telescoping column. One-piece curved windshield, 1-piece fixed glass rear cab window, power door locks and windows, combo fresh-air heater/air conditioner, cab air suspension, and a stainless steel outside sunvisor. Peterbilt Aero motorized, heated mirrors with integrated convex lenses (body-color housing), plus a black-housing look-down mirror over the passenger door. ConcertClass AM/FM radio with weatherband and 3.5mm aux input, a standard 2-speaker package, Bluetooth phone/audio with USB port, and a Uniden PC78LTX CB radio on a low-mount LH cowl antenna. Global telematics hardware is installed with SmartLINQ Remote Diagnostics (5-year subscription included) and an F/O telematics wiring provision (J1939, power, ground). A 15" digital cluster display shows engine oil temperature, transmission oil temperature, air filter restriction pressure, tractor brake application air pressure, engine and PTO hourmeters, turbo boost pressure, engine percent torque, and pusher axle pressure. Additional equipment includes a rear-wall map/record pocket, a removable bugscreen behind the grille, electric windshield wipers with intermittent feature, a textured NFPA-compliant exterior entry grab handle, auto-reset circuit protection, a triangle reflector kit, a fire extinguisher, a 107 dB backup alarm, daytime running lights, self-canceling turn signals, and headlight projector module pods with fender-mounted turn signals. Engine idle shutdown is configured with a timer.
Body & Equipment
Heritage Steel Smooth Side end-dump body, 16'6" long and 99" wide. Sides are 60" tall in 1/4" AR-450 with a 1/2" ID threaded pipe probe hole on each side, front-post-only side posts, a 3/16" rear post, and a formed 3/16" AR-450 top rail with a built-in inverted angle (no separate sideboards needed). Floor is 1/4" AR-450 with formed 3/16" longsills and a formed bottom rail. Bulkhead is 1/4" AR-450 built for a trunnion-style hoist, with a 24" full-width, 10-gauge cab shield featuring a 6" face and tarp deflector. Tailgate is 60" tall, 1/4" AR-450, single-panel with horizontal bracing, an overslung top hinge with an air-operated hi-lift (heavy-duty cylinders in the rear post with access panels), air-tailgate controls, and remote grease lines installed for the tailgate latch. Hydraulics consist of a trunnion-mount telescopic front hoist with a hotshift PTO for the Allison automatic transmission, a direct-mount pump with a feathering air-control shifter valve, a between-seats tower for body/strobe/regulator/tarp controls, a rear-mounted pump kickout switch, and a steel slim hydraulic tank installed in the hoist doghouse — a 3-line system with shutoff valves and dash-mounted PTO-engaged/body-up indicator lights. LED body lighting package, combo stop/turn/tail lights in the rear post, and dual front strobes (one atop each front post) plus a strobe in each rear post. Additional equipment includes a driver-side front ladder with a step below the bottom rail and a full-length round grab handle, front-only inside steps, steel front splash guards, full-width Heritage rear mud flaps (strap-hooked with chains), a driver-side shovel holder, an 8" pipe rear apron, aluminum diamond-plate bottom rail covers, round combo rear chassis lights in a hinge-mounted ID cluster plate, a shortened/reused factory exhaust stack, an installed body prop, and a back-up alarm. Tarp system is an Aero electric arm flip tarp in asphalt-grade material (without expandable sides or rear flap), with a wind screen mounted at the front of the cab shield. Body is finished in a sandblasted, primed, and painted black finish with conspicuity tape on the bottom rail and tailgate; cab, hood, fenders, and roof are finished in a two-stage Axalta white paint with a black frame. Cab-to-body spacing is approximately 7", with an overhang of approximately 15" body plus an 8" apron.
Tires & Wheels
Front steer tires are 20-ply 315/80R22.5 M870 on Accuride 22.5x9.00 aluminum wheels, standard polish, 3.12" inset. Rear tandem tires are 16-ply 11R24.5 M799 (8 total, dual-mounted) on Accuride 24.5x8.25 aluminum wheels, standard polish. The self-steering pusher axle rides on 14-ply 11R22.5 R273 Ecopia tires mounted on Accuride 22.5x8.25 aluminum wheels, standard polish.
