Overview
This new 2027 Peterbilt 536 medium-duty chassis is configured as a 26,000 lb GVWR hook-lift roll-off unit on a 126" CA layout, finished with a Palfinger HAD-185S-120-36-54 hook-lift body for city delivery and general commodity hauling.

Engine & Drivetrain
Powered by a PACCAR PX-7 engine rated 325 HP @ 2,400 RPM (governed at 2,600 RPM) with 750 lb-ft of torque @ 1,800 RPM, 2024-emissions compliant. Paired with an Allison 3000 RDS-P Rugged Duty Series automatic transmission (Gen 6), set up in a 6-speed close-ratio configuration with a dash-mounted push-button shifter, auto-neutral-at-stop, and auto-neutral activation with the parking brake. Driveline is an SPL170 HD-XL with one midship bearing. PTO provisions include an LH-mounted trans PTO opening, a dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-hydraulic PTO control, a Chelsea PTO mount, and a hot-shift PTO package for the automatic transmission. Cooling is handled by a high-efficiency system with a Horton on/off fan clutch, along with an 18.7 CFM air compressor, VGT exhaust brake, and PACCAR fuel/water separator. Exhaust is a single RH SOC configuration with the DPF/SCR mounted under the cab (single module) and an 18" chrome standpipe with clear coat. Electrical package includes a PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, PACCAR 12V starter, three PACCAR premium 12V dual-purpose batteries (2,190 CCA), a low-voltage disconnect system, and a battery disconnect switch mounted on the battery box.

Chassis & Axles
Front axle is a Hendrickson SteerTek NXT rated 10,000 lbs (3.32" drop) with mono-leaf springs/shocks, Sheppard HD94 power steering, and a frame-mounted reservoir. Rear axle is a Dana Spicer S21-172 single axle rated 21,000 lbs on a 5.57 ratio, with a differential lock (speed interlock) and ABS (4S4M). Both axles use PHP10 aluminum preset+ hubs with Bendix air disc ADB22X brakes front and rear, and synthetic axle lubricant throughout. GAWR is 10,000 lbs front / 21,000 lbs rear, for a 26,000 lb GVWR and GCW. Wheelbase measures 188", with a 210.50" cab-to-end-of-frame dimension. Frame consists of 10-5/8" steel rails (5/16" thickness) with an HD five-piece BOC crossmember, zinc-coated anti-corrosion-treated rails, and aluminum frame rail crossmembers; maximum grade rating is 6%. The end-of-frame is square with no crossmember and rear mudflaps/hangers omitted, both set up for the body builder's installation. Chassis also carries a D-shaped 70-gallon aluminum fuel tank (LH, under cab) with a polished non-slip step, a DEF tank mounted LH BOC with a polished stainless cover, an aluminum space-saver battery box (RH BOC, side access) with a diamond-plate DPF/SCR cover, a steel 3-piece aero bumper in bright finish, and a Bendix AD-HF EP air dryer with heater and coalescing filter.

Suspension
Peterbilt Air Trac rear suspension rated 23,000 lbs (light weight), with air springs and internal bumpers, plus a dash-mounted dump switch with a suspension load indicator light.

Cab & Interior
Peterbilt Aero 107" BBC SMC hood with a molded charcoal crown and aluminum cab, bright-finish hood crown. ProBilt charcoal gray interior with a curved roof and a thermal insulation package, riding on a cab air suspension. Sears driver and passenger seats in black — air-ride, high-back driver's seat in vinyl with a seat skirt and RH armrest, and a non-air-ride, high-back passenger seat in vinyl, with a toolbox built in under the passenger seat. Multi-function steering wheel with integrated audio and cruise controls on a tilt/telescoping column. High-visibility yellow interior grabhandles, metal door panel kick plates, and a textured, NFPA-compliant exterior cab entry grabhandle. One-piece curved windshield with dark window tint (day cab), a 3-piece fixed rear cab window, power door locks/window lifts, and a combo fresh-air heater/air conditioner. Motorized, heated aero mirrors with integrated convex lenses, plus a black-housed look-down mirror over the passenger door. ConcertClass AM/FM radio with Bluetooth phone/audio and USB port, a standard 2-speaker package, and an under-cab air horn. Digital 7" instrument cluster displays transmission oil temperature, brake application air pressure, suspension load pressure, engine PTO hours, and turbo boost, alongside a dual-scale (MPH/KPH) speedometer and three additional dash switches. Global telematics hardware is installed (SmartLINQ disabled per Massachusetts Right to Repair law). Exterior lighting includes composite fender-mounted headlights with integral DRL/park/turn/side marker, five chrome-housed aero LED marker lights, two bumper-recessed fog lights, wiring for an F/O beacon/strobe, self-canceling turn signals, and two flush-mounted LED load lights with an additional F/O load light and switch. Ships loose with a UL-listed ABC fire extinguisher and triangle reflector kit; backup alarm rated 107 dB.

Body & Equipment
Palfinger HAD-185S-120-36-54 hook-lift hoist rated 18,500 lbs, with 36" and 54" hook heights and dual lift cylinders (dual articulating). Features an "L"-shaped arm with 36" of travel, automatic rear container locks, inside/outside cable controls, and a direct-mount pump with suction and return filters. Plastic fenders with a full-width bumper and lights, a back-up alarm and body-up light, and a set of rear mud flaps round out the base install; all lighting and reflectors meet FMVSS-108, with LED stop/turn/taillights. Additional equipment includes a Pioneer HR1500H turf-tarper cover with an adjustable gantry (126" CA), a combo hook on a 1/2" plate with D-rings and plug, and a Bawer 18x18x36 stainless steel toolbox mounted on the passenger side. Hoist and frame are finished in black; cab, hood, fenders, and roof are finished in a two-stage Axalta white.
