Overview
This 2027 Peterbilt 589 Traditional day cab is configured as a construction dump truck for on/off-highway commodity hauling, built out with a Heritage end dump body, telescopic hoist, and electric tarp system.

Engine & Drivetrain
Powered by a Cummins X15 rated 525 HP @ 1,900 RPM (governed at 2,000 RPM) with 1,850 lb-ft of torque @ 1,000 RPM, 2024-emissions compliant. Paired with an Eaton Fuller RTLO20918B 18-speed manual transmission with an oil-to-water cooler and chrome shifter, self-adjust and pre-damped clutch. SPL350 HD-XL driveline with one midship bearing, plus an SPL250 XL interaxle driveline for the tandem rear axles. Rear axle ratio is 4.10, with a typical operating speed rating of 68 MPH. Equipped with a Jacobs engine compression brake, PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, PACCAR premium starter, four PACCAR premium 12V dual-purpose batteries (2,920 CCA), 18.7 CFM aspirated air compressor, high-efficiency cooling system with 2-speed fan clutch, and an immersion-type block heater (110–120V).

Chassis & Axles
Front axle: PACCAR FX-20 steer axle rated 20,000 lbs with a 4" drop, taper leaf springs and shocks, Sheppard SD110 dual-gear power steering with a frame-mounted, cooled reservoir, and air disc front brakes. Rear axle: Meritor RT46-164E rated 46,000 lbs (5/8" wall) with a differential lock and speed interlock, air disc rear brakes, and a Watson-Chalin SL2065 self-steering pusher axle rated 20,000 lbs (52" pusher axle spacing, one air tank). GVWR is 84,740 lbs (GAWR front 20,000 lbs / first intermediate 18,740 lbs / second intermediate & rear 23,000 lbs). Wheelbase measures 240", maximum grade rating is 6%. ABS (6S6M), tire pressure monitoring, and synthetic axle lubricant on all axles. Frame consists of 10-3/4" steel rails to 354" (3/8" thickness) with a full steel inner liner, HD iron front spring brackets, zinc-coated anti-corrosion treated rails, and aluminum frame rail crossmembers.

Suspension
Hendrickson HMX EX 460 rear suspension rated 46,000 lbs, 54" spread, HAULMAAX with 70K creep rating, shock absorbers, and a double rebound strap kit. Lift axle regulator and gauge for the pusher axle, with switch and dash gauge at the driver's seat; the lifted axle stows higher for maximum ground clearance.

Cab & Interior
Aluminum day cab, 121" BBC aluminum hood with polished crown and spring tilt assist, SmartSound cab insulation package, and cab air suspension. Peterbilt LX premium driver seat (air ride, high back, leather) with a non-adjustable ST passenger seat (high back, vinyl); driver and passenger armrests; black seat color; toolbox and record holder under the passenger seat. Premier interior in Alpine Gray with a rubber floor, adjustable tilt/telescoping steering column, and a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with integrated audio and cruise controls. One-piece curved windshield, dark window tint, power door locks and windows, and a combo fresh-air heater/AC. Stainless steel V-style outside sunvisor, heated and motorized 7"x18" West Coast mirrors with (2) 8" heated convex mirrors and a look-down mirror over the passenger door. ConcertClass AM/FM radio with 3.5mm aux, midlevel 4-speaker package, Bluetooth phone/audio with USB port, and a Uniden Bearcat 880 CB radio with weatherband and dual 48" antennas. PB electric windshield wipers with intermittent feature.

Body & Equipment
Heritage HS-HD 17'6" x 48" x 54" end dump body (Body Serial # HS-15892), paired with a Binotto 6.5-4-160 telescopic hoist and an Aero electric flip tarp system. Deep-tapered chrome steel bumper with two tow points and a heavy-duty external tow eye. Fire extinguisher (hazmat-approved, UL listed/rated ABC) and triangle reflector kit shipped loose, plus backup alarm wiring to the end of frame. Aluminum stylized battery box with non-slip step and pad, polished battery/tool boxes, and an aluminum non-slip cab entry step at the aftertreatment. Full LED lighting package: heated LED pod headlights with integral turn signals, five bus-style LED bullet marker lights, LED stop/turn/tail/backup lights bracket-mounted at the end of frame, additional LED turn signals on the mirrors, and (2) flush-mounted LED load lights with an additional fender-mounted load light and wiring for beacon/strobe and auxiliary lighting. Global telematics hardware installed. Two-stage Axalta paint with a metallic/pearl effect, finished in Medium Rich Blue across the cab, fenders, hood top, and cab roof, with a black frame.

Tires & Wheels
Front: Bridgestone 20-ply 425/65R22.5 M864 tires on Alcoa 22.5x12.25 high-polish aluminum wheels (2.75" inset), mirror-polish outer surface with Dura-Bright finish. Rear: Bridgestone 16-ply 11R24.5 M799 tires on Alcoa 24.5x8.25 high-polish aluminum wheels (severe service), mirror-polish outer surface with Dura-Bright finish, tandem drive. Pusher axle: (2) Bridgestone 18-ply 385/65R22.5 M864 tires on Alcoa 22.5x12.25 high-polish aluminum wheels, mirror-polish finish with Dura-Bright, and wheel guards fitted between the brake drum and wheel.
