Engine & Drivetrain
A PACCAR MX-13 Performance engine powers this truck, rated at 510 HP at 1,600 RPM and 1,850 lb-ft of torque at 1,000 RPM, governed at 2,200 RPM. The engine meets 2024 emissions standards and is CARB emission and idling compliant. The powertrain is optimized for performance in vocational applications, with a typical operating speed of 65 MPH. It runs on EMUX electronics architecture and includes engine monitoring protection with derate. A PACCAR compression brake is controlled from the right-hand column. A cab-station PTO mode control and a 12-pin remote PTO/throttle provision in the engine bay are included.
Power goes through an Allison 4500 RDS-P Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series automatic transmission in a 6-speed configuration. The transmission uses a TC-571 torque converter and a dash-mounted push-button shifter. Auto neutral engages with the parking brake, and the transmission also goes to neutral at a stop. The driveline is a Spicer SPL250 Lite with three midship bearings and an SPL170 XL interaxle shaft. A dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-hydraulic PTO control is included. Rear axle ratio is 4.10.
