Overview
This 2027 Peterbilt 536 Medium Duty is a new Class 6 chassis (26,000 lb GVWR) configured for construction dump service, built for on/off-highway commodity hauling. It's fitted with a Beau Roc DCS model dump body, size 10 x 36 x 42.

Engine & Drivetrain
Powered by a PACCAR PX-9 engine rated at 350 HP (governed at 2,200 RPM) with 1,050 lb-ft of torque at 1,200 RPM, productivity-rated and 2024-emissions compliant. Paired with an Allison 3000 RDS-P Rugged Duty Series automatic transmission in a 6-speed, close-ratio configuration with a dash-mounted push-button shifter and Allison Neutral-At-Stop. Powertrain is optimized for frequent start/stop duty cycles at a typical operating speed of 70 MPH. Equipped with a Jacobs compression brake, Horton on/off fan clutch, 18.7 CFM air compressor, high-efficiency cooling system, and a single right-hand exhaust with under-cab DPF/SCR (single module) and an 18" chrome standpipe with clear coat. Driveline is a 1710 HD unit with one midship bearing, with PTO provisions (Chelsea) and a dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-hydraulic PTO control. Electrical system includes a PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, PACCAR 12V starter, three PACCAR premium 12V dual-purpose batteries (2,190 CCA), low-voltage disconnect system, and a battery disconnect switch mounted on the battery box. Fuel is supplied by a 50-gallon D-shaped aluminum tank mounted LH under cab with a non-slip step, alongside a small HD DEF tank (14 gal HD / 5.5 gal MD) at a 2:1 DEF-to-fuel ratio.

Chassis & Axles
Front axle is a Hendrickson SteerTek NXT rated 10,000 lbs with a 3.32" drop, mono-leaf springs and shocks, Sheppard HD94 power steering with a frame-mounted reservoir, and Bendix air cam front drum brakes (16.5 x 5). Rear axle is a Dana Spicer S21-172 single axle rated 21,000 lbs with a 4.78 rear axle ratio, driver-controlled differential lock with speed interlock, pneumatic park brake, and Bendix air cam rear drum brakes (16.5 x 7). Both axles ride on PHP10 Iron Preset+ hubs with gusseted cam brackets and heavy-duty cam bushings. GAWR is rated 10,000 lbs front / 21,000 lbs rear for a 26,000 lb GVWR. Wheelbase measures 152", built on 10-3/4" steel frame rails (3/8" thickness) with zinc-coated anti-corrosion treatment, a 5-piece heavy-duty crossmember at the BOC, and aluminum frame rail crossmembers. Maximum grade rating is 6%. Also equipped with 4S4M anti-lock braking, tire pressure monitoring, and synthetic axle lubricant on all axles.

Suspension
Rear suspension is a Peterbilt Air Trac unit rated 23,000 lbs (light-weight configuration) with air springs and internal bumpers, plus a dash-mounted dump switch with suspension indicator light.

Cab & Interior
Cab is a Peterbilt Aero 107" BBC day cab with a molded SMC hood, charcoal crown, and aluminum construction, finished with a bright hood crown. Interior is ProBilt trim in charcoal gray with a curved roof and a thermal insulation package. Seating includes a heated, high-back Sears premium air-ride driver's seat in black with a seat skirt and right-hand armrest, plus a Sears two-person vinyl passenger seat. Steering wheel is multi-function with PB logo, audio, and cruise controls on an adjustable tilt/telescoping column. Cab features Peterbilt keyless entry, power door locks and windows, a one-piece curved windshield, dark window tint, a fixed one-piece glass rear window, and cab air suspension. Outside sunvisor is stainless steel, mirrors are motorized/heated Peterbilt Aero units with integrated convex lenses and a black-housed look-down mirror over the passenger door. Electronics include a 7" digital instrument cluster (transmission oil temperature, air restriction indicator, dual-scale MPH/KPH speedometer, PTO hourmeter, manifold pressure, and voltmeter gauges), a 7" infotainment display with Apple CarPlay, a standard 2-speaker package, four additional dash switches, an under-cab-mounted air horn, and global telematics hardware. Also equipped with electric windshield wipers with intermittent feature, auto-reset circuit protection, a UL-listed ABC fire extinguisher, a triangle reflector kit, and a 107 dB backup alarm.

Body & Equipment
Fitted with a Beau Roc DCS model dump body, size 10 x 36 x 42, featuring a 25-ton hoist (piston M-90-4.25-3) with a 25-ton install kit, an air gate, and a Muncie hot-shift PTO with a direct-mount pump and center control tower. Body construction includes a one-piece 3/16" floor, a one-piece formed 1/8" front, and one-piece molded 1/8" diamond-style sides with a 3/16" box top rail (all rated 215,000 PSI / 450 HB steel), a 3/16" diamond-style tailgate, and 3/16" high-quality steel longitudinals with inside gussets for added strength. A 42" full cab shield protects the cab, and a Mountain-style electric tarp system is installed along with a body stop limit and back-up alarm. Additional equipment includes 2x10 painted pine side boards, a safety body prop, inside and outside steps, spreader chains, mud flaps and bracket, reflectors and a center light bar, a 20-ton pintle hook plate with D-rings, 2 LED stop/turn/tail lights in the rear post, and 4 LED strobe lights (2 on the cab shield, 2 at the rear of the body). Body is painted gun-metal gray metallic or black. Chassis-side equipment includes a 3-piece steel Aero bumper in bright finish, an aluminum space-saver battery box (RH BOC, side access) with a diamond plate cover over the DPF/SCR box, an aluminum non-slip cab entry step, (5) chrome-housed aero LED marker lights, (2) Peterbilt fog lights recessed in the bumper, switch and wiring for a beacon/strobe, self-canceling turn signals, and bracket-mounted LED stop/turn/tail/backup lights at the EOF. Cab, hood, fenders, hood top, and cab roof are finished in a two-stage Axalta Viper Red, with a black-painted frame.

Tires & Wheels
Front tires are 11R22.5 R268 Ecopia (16-ply), mounted on Alcoa 22.5 x 8.25 high-polish aluminum wheels (severe service) with mirror-polish outer surfaces and Dura-Bright finish. Rear tires are 11R22.5 M726ELA (14-ply, qty 4), mounted on matching Alcoa 22.5 x 8.25 high-polish aluminum wheels (severe service) with mirror-polish outer surfaces and Dura-Bright finish.

This new truck carries Peterbilt's standard manufacturer coverage: a Class 7 standard warranty of 1 year / unlimited miles, an emissions warranty of 5 years / 100,000 miles, and a 5-year / unlimited-mile electrical wiring warranty (medium duty, U.S.). It's further backed by the PACCAR Protection Plan 1 for the PX-9 (2024-series emissions), covering the engine for 6 years / 150,000 miles (241,402 km), plus matching PACCAR Aftertreatment coverage for 6 years / 150,000 miles (241,402 km).
