Overview
This used 2022 Peterbilt 579 Class 8 sleeper tractor shows 717,207 miles and 13,111 engine hours. It’s a tandem-axle highway tractor with an 80" UltraLoft sleeper, finished in Sovereign Blue, with a 52,000 lb GVW. Before listing, the unit went through a full Peterbilt courtesy inspection, an Assurant pre-owned truck inspection and a federal DOT inspection. Every repair found was completed, and the truck passed DOT with no issues. It’s a good fit for fleets and owner-operators looking for a late-model Peterbilt 579 sleeper with recent service history.

Engine & Drivetrain
The PACCAR MX-13 engine is rated at 455 horsepower and 1,750 lb-ft of torque, and its condition is listed as good. It received a fresh MX service with new oil and fuel filters and 10W-30 CK4 oil, plus new engine and cabin air filters. The Assurant road test passed for engine performance, regen, smoke, noise, oil pressure and temperature, and showed no non-OEM engine modifications. Power goes through a PACCAR TX-12 transmission to a 2.64 rear axle ratio. The exhaust flex pipe was replaced with a new bellows kit.

Chassis & Axles
The truck rides on a 250" wheelbase with a 13,200 lb front axle and 40,000 lb tandem rear axles, with differential locks. The steer axle got a new king pin kit and a new front axle tie rod end assembly. The forward rear axle was resealed with a new input seal, and its drain plug was replaced. The chassis was fully greased. Dual 120-gallon fuel tanks give it 240 gallons of total fuel capacity.

Suspension
The rear suspension is a Low Air Leaf setup. The steering and suspension checks on the Assurant inspection passed.

Cab & Interior
The 80" UltraLoft sleeper interior shows normal wear. A new one-piece windshield and new wiper blades were installed, and the driver-side door control module was replaced, with window and mirror operation verified. The inspection passed for HVAC, gauges, power locks, windows and mirrors, cruise control, and the infotainment and audio systems.

Body & Equipment
The tractor has an air fifth wheel and an APU. Four new Group 31 batteries were installed, and an under-cab marker light was replaced.

Tires & Wheels
It runs 275/80R22.5 low-profile tires on the steer and drive axles, all virgin tires. Brake pads were replaced on the steer axle, the forward rear axle and the rear rear axle.

Warranty & Protection
As a pre-owned unit, this truck comes standard with an Assurant 30-day limited warranty. It has completed the Assurant pre-owned truck inspection and is marked as qualifying for a service contract. Buyers can add an Assurant Heavy Truck Extended Service Contract at the Premium, Powertrain Plus, Powertrain, Engine & Aftertreatment or Engine Only level. Terms range from 6 months/50,000 miles up to 60 months/625,000 miles. All coverage is subject to inspection and approval.
