Overview
This new 2025 Peterbilt 548 medium-duty conventional is configured as a flatbed, built for city delivery and general commodity hauling. It pairs a 350 HP PACCAR PX-9 engine and Allison 6-speed automatic with a 40,000 lb tandem rear axle, riding on a 24'6" TEC steel platform body outfitted with a genuine Moffett/Princeton fork lift carrier kit. GVWR is rated at 54,600 lbs.

Engine & Drivetrain
Powered by a PACCAR PX-9 engine rated at 350 HP (governed at 2,200 RPM) with 1,050 lb-ft of torque at 1,200 RPM, built to 2024 emissions standards. EMUX electronics architecture, PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, immersion-type block heater (110-120V), and two PACCAR premium 12V starting batteries (2,000 CCA). Equipped with a Horton on/off fan clutch, 18.7 CFM air compressor, VGT exhaust brake, and a high-efficiency cooling system. Exhaust is routed single right-hand side of cab with a DPF/SCR under-cab single module, a curved-tip standpipe, and a 36" chrome standpipe with clear coat. Transmission is an Allison 3000 RDS-P, Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series 6-speed automatic with close-ratio gears, dash-mounted push-button shifter, and neutral-at-stop feature. Driveline is a 1710 HD unit with 2 midship bearings and an interaxle driveline for the tandem rear axles, with a Chelsea PTO provision and a dash-mounted single-acting electric-over-hydraulic PTO control. Typical operating speed is set at 65 MPH.

Chassis & Axles
Frame consists of 10-3/4" steel rails (403"-444" range) at 3/8" thickness with a full steel inner liner and aluminum frame rail crossmembers. Front axle is a Meritor MFS+14F rated 14,600 lbs with a 3.5" drop, taper leaf springs, Sheppard SD110 power steering, and Meritor EX+ LS air disc brakes with severe-service disc brake rotors. Rear axle is a Meritor MT40-14X rated 40,000 lbs with a 5.29 ratio, heavy-wall axle housings, differential lock with speed interlock, and Meritor EX+ LS air disc brakes. Both axles ride on PHP10 Iron Preset+ hubs, with a 6S6M anti-lock braking system and synthetic axle lubricant throughout. GAWR is rated 14,600 lbs front / 20,000 lbs per intermediate axle group, with a 54,600 lb GVWR and 54,600 lb GCW. Wheelbase measures 274", with a 67.5" FAX/BOC and 206.5" cab-to-axle dimension; maximum grade rating is 6%. A D-shaped aluminum 100-gallon fuel tank is mounted left-hand under cab with a non-slip step, alongside a DEF tank mounted left-hand back of cab (large, HD 30 gal / MD 15 gal) with a polished stainless steel cover. Aluminum space-saver battery box is mounted right-hand back of cab with side access, and the chassis carries a chromed, tapered steel bumper with 2 tow points.

Suspension
Hendrickson HMX EX 400 rear suspension rated 40,000 lbs with a 54" spread, HAULMAAX design and 60K creep rating.

Cab & Interior
Peterbilt Aero 107" BBC cab with SMC hood, molded charcoal crown, and aluminum cab construction, finished with a bright-finish hood crown. Thermal insulation package included. Sears driver and passenger seats, with an air-ride, high-back, vinyl driver seat and a high-back vinyl passenger seat, plus driver/passenger armrests. Adjustable tilt/telescope steering column with a Peterbilt-logo steering wheel. ProBilt charcoal gray interior with curved roof, one-piece curved windshield, fixed one-piece glass rear window, power door locks and power windows, and a combo fresh-air heater/air conditioner. Motorized, heated aero mirrors with integrated convex lenses, a look-down mirror over the passenger door, and round hood-mounted mirrors round out visibility. ConcertClass AM/FM radio with weatherband and 3.5mm aux, a standard 2-speaker package, Bluetooth phone/audio, USB port, and SmartLinq RD telematics with a 5-year subscription. The digital 7" instrument cluster displays transmission oil temperature, engine hourmeter, PTO hourmeter, turbo boost, and percent torque, alongside a dual-scale speedometer, air restriction indicator, and brake application air pressure gauge. Electric windshield wipers with intermittent feature, cab air suspension, and auto-reset circuit protection are included, along with an NFPA-compliant exterior cab entry grabhandle, triangle reflector kit, fire extinguisher, and a 107 dB backup alarm. Exterior is finished in an Axalta two-stage paint: white cab, hood top, cab roof, and fenders over a black frame.

Body & Equipment
24'6" long x 102" wide TEC steel platform flatbed body (Body # 10-3625-24) with 7" structural channel longsills and 4" structural channel crossmembers on 2" centers, gusseted every other crossmember. TEC formed side rails with stake pockets and a 3/16" smooth steel floor; the underside of the body is fully undercoated with petroleum-based undercoating. A full-height bulkhead with window cut-out is finished in black enamel. Equipped with an LED marker light kit (3/4 bullet style), reflective white conspicuity tape on both sides (stitched) and full-width across the rear, HD ICC underride protection, and anti-sail mud flaps. Includes a 12-volt DC backup alarm, an underbody toolbox on the driver's side, seven 4" winches and straps mounted on a slider rail on the passenger side with a winch bar holder mounted on the bulkhead, and a 3-point access ladder at the bulkhead on the driver's side. Fitted with a genuine Moffett/Princeton fork lift carrier kit (factory kit, not an aftermarket knock-off).

Tires & Wheels
Front tires are 12R22.5 HSC3, 16-ply, with TPMS sensors. Rear tires are 11R22.5 HDR2+, 14-ply, in an eight-tire rear configuration. Wheels are Alcoa 22.5x8.25 high-polish aluminum, eight-wheel rear configuration.
