Overview
This 2025 Peterbilt 520 LCF is configured as a commercial front loader refuse truck, built for on-highway hauling of refuse, scrap, and recycling. It carries a 264" long, 162" tall commercial front loader/push-out body rated for an 80,000 lb max laden weight.

Engine & Drivetrain
Powered by a PACCAR MX-11 rated 400 HP at 1,600 RPM, governed at 2,200 RPM, with 1,450 lb-ft of torque at 900 RPM — built to a refuse duty spec and 2024-emissions compliant. Paired with an Allison 4500 RDS-P Rugged Duty Series (Gen 6) automatic transmission in a 6-speed configuration, featuring a console-mounted push-button shifter, Allison FuelSense DynActive with dynamic shift sensing, Allison Neutral at Stop, and auto-neutral activation with the parking brake. Rear axle ratio is 4.56, set for a typical operating speed of 65 MPH. Driveline consists of an 1810 HD driveline with one midship bearing (4.5" x .180 wall tubing) and a 1710 interaxle driveline for the tandem rear axles. Equipped with a PACCAR engine compression brake, front-engine PTO provision with 4-7/8" bumper extension, a dash-mounted electric-over-air PTO control, and remote PTO/throttle connections (12-pin engine bay and 12-pin 500K BOC/BOS, J1939). Electrical package includes a PACCAR 160-amp brushed alternator, PACCAR premium starter, three 12V starting batteries (3,000 CCA) with a Kissling battery disconnect switch, and a 110-120V immersion block heater.

Chassis & Axles
Front axle is a PACCAR FX-20 steer axle rated 20,000 lbs with a 4" drop, taper leaf springs and shocks rated 23,000 lbs, gusseted cam brackets and heavy-duty cam bushings, and Sheppard M100 dual-gear power steering. Rear axle is a Dana Spicer D46-172 rated 46,000 lbs with differential lock on both axles, heavy-wall axle housings, an axle lube pump, gusseted cam brackets, and synthetic axle lubricant. Hubs are PHP10 iron preset-plus front and rear. GVWR is 66,000 lbs (GCW also 66,000 lbs) with GAWR ratings of 20,000 lbs front and 23,000 lbs at each intermediate position. Wheelbase measures 210", cab-to-end-of-frame is 290", and maximum grade rating is 6%. Frame consists of 10-3/4" steel rails (306"-342") at 3/8" thickness with a full steel inner liner and zinc-coated, anti-corrosion-treated frame rails; the end-of-frame is square without a crossmember for body-builder installation, and rear mudflaps/hangers are omitted. Braking includes Bendix air cam drum brakes (16.5"x7" front, 16.5"x8.6" rear), refuse-duty service brakes on steer and drive axles, reinforced rear brake camshafts, and a 6S6M anti-lock braking system.

Suspension
Rear suspension is a Hendrickson HMX EX 460 rated 46,000 lbs with a 52" HAULMAAX spring configuration and 70K creep rating, a 16.5" saddle height, and heavy-duty Hendrickson shock absorbers.

Cab & Interior
Cab is a 53" LCF ProBilt, left-hand drive, finished in gray interior with a thermal insulation package. Seating includes an air-ride, high-back, vinyl driver's seat and a non-air-ride, low-back, vinyl passenger seat. Features an adjustable tilt/telescoping steering column, steering wheel with Peterbilt logo, two-piece flat windshield, BOC rear window with standard tint (18.5"x54"), PB electric pantograph wipers with intermittent feature, and a combination fresh-air heater/air conditioner. Instrumentation is a digital cluster with 7" display, including transmission oil temperature and an exhaust-mounted air restriction indicator. Mirrors are stainless steel, heated and motorized, supplemented by four 8" convex stainless mirrors. Also equipped with global telematics hardware, an NFPA-compliant exterior cab-entry grabhandle, rain gutters over both doors, and an air-assist cab tilt pump.

Body & Equipment
Commercial front loader/push-out refuse body measuring 264" long by 162" high, rated for an 80,000 lb max laden weight. Exterior equipment includes a stainless steel grille, bugscreen, painted steel bumper channel with a notched top flange, a screen over the bumper air intake opening, a black-painted front cab guard, and an aluminum battery box mounted LH frame-side. Lighting includes single rectangular halogen headlights, five LED clearance and two LED marker lights, self-canceling turn signals, a battery-disconnect warning marker light, and a variable-adjusting backup alarm (87-112 dB). Safety equipment includes a cab-mounted fire extinguisher (UL-listed/rated ABC) and a ship-loose triangle reflector kit. Fuel system consists of a 26" aluminum 80-gallon fuel tank mounted RH behind the cab, a 7.3-gallon DEF tank mounted LH BOC, and a PACCAR MX engine fuel cooler. Air system includes a Bendix AD-HF EP air dryer with heater and coalescing filter (extended purge), nylon chassis hose, a central air tank drain valve location, and high-mount, steel-painted air tanks located BOC/BOS. Finished in two-stage Axalta paint: white cab, hood, and roof with a black frame and bumper.

Tires & Wheels
Front tires are 315/80R22.5, 20-ply, mounted on Alcoa 22.5x9.00 high-polish aluminum wheels. Rear tires are 11R22.5, 16-ply, with TPMS sensors, mounted on Alcoa 22.5x8.25 high-polish aluminum wheels in a severe-service rating — eight tires and rims across the rear. Wheels feature mirror-polish outer surfaces with Dura-Bright finish front and rear.
